TA Bitumen Group has signed an agreement with the Development Corporation of Sverdlovsk Region to build a production and logistics bitumen terminal in the Sverdlovsk Region to cover the entire territory of the Urals and Western Siberia.
The terminal will be built in the EKAD Yuzhny industrial park located in the Chkalovsky District of Ekaterinburg in the area of industrial, social, and business development. The facility will be provided with well-developed transport links due to its location on the stretch of the EKAD highway connecting the Polevskoy and Chelyabinsky routes to be launched in 2020, as well as due to its close proximity to the railroad.
The Ural bitumen terminal will be able to accept about 3,000 tonnes of viscous oil products from road and railway per day. The simultaneous storage volume will be 53,000 tonnes. The terminal will produce modified bitumens, as well as bitumen emulsions.
The terminal will provide for storage of bitumen materials in the low season keeping up their stable quality and help to stabilize prices for the products in the region and reduce the shortage of bitumen materials in the high season from May to October when all the road work takes place.
“The Development Corporation of Sverdlovsk Region has been developing issues related to the bitumen terminal construction in the Sverdlovsk Region, choosing the best industrial site for the terminal location for the TA Bitumen Group since 2017. The localization in the Sverdlovsk Region will provide for the supply coverage of the extensive territory of the Ural Federal District, as well as for entering the Western Siberian market,” said Nikita Koskevich, Deputy General Director of the Development Corporation of Sverdlovsk Region.
TA Bitumen Group is one of the major suppliers of bitumen materials in Russia, the CIS, and Eastern Europe. It is a distributor of PJSC Rosneft Oil Company, PJSC Lukoil, and a partner of PJSC Gazprom Neft.
